After a somewhat challenging start, the four of us managed to catch 30 fish in a week. During the first days, we had to find out where the fish were feeding. Remember, the area where you see the fish may not necessarily be the spot where you catch them. Our tactic was 'Match the Hatch': feeding with boilies and fishing using a wafter of the same color and flavor. The Robin Red proved to be very successful.

This was my first time at Hidden Carp Lake, and we were at swim 1. We fished with two rods. We were warmly welcomed and received some explanations. However, no specific fishing tips were provided. We did everything we could, but unfortunately, caught nothing. That was quite disappointing, especially considering all the reviews. You start doubting yourself, but oh well. We tried everything mentioned in previous reviews: small bait, not overfeeding, fishing along the edges. The house pellets are only 3mm — I hadn’t accounted for that, and I didn’t bring any pellets myself. These pellets couldn’t be attached to a hair and dissolve relatively quickly in water, particularly if you leave them in one spot for a long time.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner. Then we took a round to check the sanitary facilities, which were good, albeit located far from the swim. Subsequently, the owner drove us to the water, approximately 300 meters from the facilities. Upon reaching the swim, the cabin appeared fine, although there were many horseflies inside that we couldn't fully eliminate, leading to a number of bites, which was less pleasant. We then encountered a heavy rainstorm which was, in itself, not a major issue, but the entire cabin was flooded, even under the canopy area. Everything stored on the ground got soaked, and much had to be discarded. This was due to the absence of a gutter at the rear of the cabin, causing rainwater to flow directly from the roof into the room. Overnight, we did not fish extensively but managed to catch 30 carp ranging between 8 and 17.5 kilograms. The water itself is not segmented, making it unclear where one can fish. The neighbors across the bank occupied most of the water, about three-quarters, leaving us with the remainder. This allocation should be clarified beforehand by The Carp Specialist. Fortunately, the neighbors left due to adverse weather, enabling us to fish the deeper section. From this area, we caught 13 carp within one day.

Despite the water level being very low (maximum 1.2 meters deep) and the fish not seeming very actively feeding, we still managed to catch 18 fish. When the weather briefly shifted from Tuesday to Wednesday, the activity seemed to pick up, but it quickly faded again. We had a fantastic week, but next time we aim to visit during a period with normal water levels.
